Those carpooling will leave from Portsmouth High School at 5:45 AM. Members should check their email for ride information.

We have just one more build meeting before the Pembroke competition. This meeting is on Monday November 28 from 6pm to 9pm in Building 80. Please note that the meeting previously scheduled on Wednesday 11/30 has been cancelled. On Thursday December 1 at 7:30 pm, coaches will pack up robots and accessories for competition. This follows the FRC meeting which most of you will be attending.

Finally, team 78A competed in an event in New Canaan, Connecticut this past weekend. The team went undefeated the entire day, seeded #1, and went on to win the competition. Besides winning the competition, the team impressed judges with their robot and engineering notebook earning the team the Design Award. 78A was also awarded the prestigious Excellence Award for having a competitive robot and being a model team. These awards qualified 78A for the US National Championship as well as the World Championship.

Although 78B/C did not compete at this competition, I am currently working on a plan for all 78 VRC teams to compete at another local competition in mid-January. When I have more information, I will share it with the teams.

All returning and new members are invited to come to FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Registration Day. We will collect paperwork and dues for all team members of FRC 78 – AIR Strike.

Every half hour, a presentation on AIR, FRC, and Team 78 will be conducted. This presentation will allow families to find out what FIRST robotics competitions are about, our schedule for the season, and expected travel costs.

We are currently recruiting new high school student members. Members can come from any school in Rhode Island (public, private, home). Please pass this information to any high school student or family that may be interested

Our group is dedicated to teaching local youth the importance of science and technology through competitive robotics.

We are currently running  three VEX Robotics Competition teams, two FIRST Tech Challenge teams, and one FIRST Robotics Competition.  Our first FIRST Lego League teams have just finished their 2011 -2012 season.

Registration is limited to the first 50 members with forms complete and dues paid.  FLL age range 9 to 14 (middle school age).

From 1 PM to 3 PM Rick Blight, FTC Coordinator, and Tom Dolan, FRC Coordinator, will discuss the upcoming high school robotics season.  Our high school level robotics team cater to members age 14 to 18 (high school age).  In the past, we have had eighth grade students participate.  Please see Rick or Tom with questions.

Families at each session will be able to fill out registration paperwork, pay dues, and ask questions.

Aquidneck Island Robotics 4-H Club will be holding our second annual golf tournament fundraiser on Saturday, August 28, at Laurel Lane Country Club in West Kingston, RI.

Golfers will enjoy a shotgun start in the afternoon, with a dinner and raffle to follow. If you do not golf and would like to support the club, we invite you to come to the dinner and raffle portion of the event.

Golfing prizes, dinner choices, raffle details, and costs are still being determined and will be released as they become available.
